Rocket Fuel Virtual Lab

Under Development - Completion Early 2024

The rocket module engages students in testing fuel-oxidant mixtures for propulsion.  Users will receive an immersive introduction to rocket propulsion, learn about fuel-oxidant mixtures and their reactions, and then use calorimetry to measure the heat of reaction for fuel-oxidant mixtures.  Calorimetry and other data are used to create an engine with an optimum fuel-oxidant mixture.  A simple rocket will be virtually launched to test engine performance.  This module covers heat of reaction, calorimetry, enthalpy, entropy, and catalysts. It has connections to kinetics and materials applications.
